I recently lost my dog Simon. I found this poem which brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my face.

THE RAINBOW BRIDGE POEM

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Shamrock Plant

I love these plants!! The Shamrock plant (Oxalis sp.) is very easy to grow. They like cool air, moist soil, and bright light or indirect sun. What makes this plant a little different from other plants in that it grows from a bulb. The plant is a tender plant best grown in pots. It has a delicate look with leaves that grow together in groups of three. The plant will produce a very small white flower. Although the Shamrock has a name that is linked to Ireland but it actually has its origin in South America.

I made my own Lip Balm!!!!

I made my own lipbalm with only 4 ingredients!!

1) teaspoon beeswax

2) teaspoon shea butter

3) 1/4 teaspoon jojoba oil

4) few drops on your favorite

essential oil

Melt the beeswas and sheabutter and mix. Mix in jojoba oil and your essential oil. Put into a tube container or a pot. Cool and use. I cooled mine in the refridgerator! I also liked the peppermint essential oil. It feels great on the lips.

Puppy Chow Snack Mix Recipe!!!!!!

This is so good I wanted to share the recipe!!!

1) 1 box rice chex cereal

2)1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

3) 1/2 peanut butter

4)1 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Melt chocolate and peanut butter in a pan. Put cereal in large bowl pour over melted chocolate and peanut butter. Carefully mix til rice chex are covered. Dump powdered sugar in large paper bag and dump in covered cereal. Shake til cereal is covered in powdered sugar.

**optional add peanutes they make it even better**

Well it's not "warm" yet but I can see the crocuses in the backyard so it won't be long. I had a table at Bead Bonanza yesterday and it went great. I even had a couple stores want to know why I hadn't been back. I guess I did that intentionally because I know times are tough and I didn't want to be a pest. They made me feel great because they needed more beads. They bought some and ordered some more. Here's some new beads that I made last week. What do you think?

The start of a fabulous week. Yesterday was gorgeous here in Michigan it was in the high 50ties, which is pretty nice for Michigan. I was able to take some pictures outside in the sunshine and I think they came out pretty good. It's suppose to be almost 70 degrees tomorrow. Looks like the St. Patrick's day leprechaun's spread some luck on us.

Almost time for the weekend. Hope everybody has some great plans. I might go to a craft show or maybe the movies. Hopefully my husband and I will get to go out to dinner. Here's some beads I'm getting ready to list. Have a great weekend.

Apple Chip Cake

This is a recipe that I got from a friend I used to work with in Pittsburgh. Thanks Susie!! It is the best apple cake I have ever had. It is so moist and delicious. Hope you enjoy it!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

1)1 1/3 cups vegetable oil
2)2 cups sugar
3)2eggs

Mix the above ingredients together and then add in the following:

4) 3 cups flour
5) 1 tsp. baking soda
6)1/2 tsp. salt
7)1 tsp. cinnamon

Now fold in 3 cups cubed and pared apples. Then add in these ingredients:

7)1 tsp. vanilla
8)1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
9)sprinkle some additional sugar and cinnamon on top

Place in ungreased pan (11x14) or 2 round cake pans. Bake 50-60 Minutes at 350 degrees.
Enjoy - I always use the round pans so I can keep one and take one to a neighbor.

Rough Day

What a day I spent the majority of it trying to get my son's ps3 to work..I had to talk with Sony, my internet provide, and the router company. I spent well over 4 hours on the phone. I've had enough. I also listed a few new pieces of jewelry. Lost most of my sunlight while on the phone with the above. I was able to get some pretty good shots. I'm enjoying practicing with my new camera and learning a lot. Looking forward to starting a new week.
